St. John

Despite a last minute flight change out of Kelowna, we caught all of our flights...Kelowna to Vancouver, to Montreal to St. John.

We arrived late in the morning and were able to check into our lovely hotel room early.

We dropped off our luggage and set off to explore on foot.

From Fort Howe there is a lovely view of the whole city.

We wandered uptown, up because of the hills, and enjoyed the old architecture and colorfully painted homes. Lots of churches and they are all old and full of history. A quick stop at Market Square by the water for a snack and then off to find the reversing falls. There is a gorgeous pathway near the water with plenty of historical landmarks along the way.

The reversing falls are cool. It is where the St. John River and Bay of Fundy meet so there is a collison of the water. To watch it swirl and then flow backwards is mesmerizing....and motion sickness inducing.

Supper was at Steamers, a recommended seafood restaurant. Lobster rolls and seafood chowder were enjoyed. And maybe a glass of wine....

It was a full day with plenty of walking and a super long travel day so it was early to bed!
